Fall is finally here. It’s time to light the candles and snuggle on the sofa with some hot chocolate. You just have to love FALL!!!
Well, we had a very slow but busy summer (oxymoron, I know). I have been working full-time at a family practice called Vista Family Health. I love where I work and enjoy my job very much; but there are those days that everyone has. Erik was busy this summer painting his parent’s house in Pasco and getting ahead for his last year of nursing school. Erik attends WSU, Tri-Cities and is a nursing s
enior.
We did not do anything too unusual, but life still seemed plenty busy.

We did get to take a trip to Vancouver, WA to see my (Marissa’s) brother and his wife who were visiting from Detroit. It was a wonderful family reunion and full of loud and controversial conversations. We also took one great camping trip for our one-year wedding anniversary (we were married Aug 4th of last year…wish you all could have been there). We went to a Wenatchee National Park and spent three days hiking and hanging out at a beautiful river. It was the first time camping for me in years, and I loved every moment outside. Camping has become our new favorite thing t
ogether. I would love to post some pictures of our trip, but unfortunately they were all deleted by accident.
So, our amazing ended but not without a tear. We saw Erik’s little sister, Laura, off to college. She was taken down to the Master’s College in CA by Erik’s parents mid Aug and will be down there until Christmas break. We miss her very much but she seems to be having a GREAT time. Not too sure how much she misses us though (wink, wink to Laura when she reads this). But we understand and will be looking forward to seeing her soon, as we do for all of you.
Yes, we did have a tremendous summer, but I’m looking forward to the fall and winter season SO MUCH. I love when the leaves change colors and all the windows can be closed with a fire warming the house. The smell of a different candle and every week and the aroma of fresh loaf of bread in the oven (or rather bread machine). The thought of what’s to come for the holiday season and what will be planned. But most of all the start of a new year will be coming and all the things the Lord will bring. I just love wrapping up a year and starting a new one. It’s so exciting and wonderful.
Don’t you think so?
